What is Äng?

Äng is an AI creative workspace for visual exploration. It combines an infinite canvas with AI image, video and 3D generation, so you can generate, branch, compare and refine visual directions — concept explorations, moodboards, visual identities, campaign directions — all without leaving a single workspace.

Who is Äng for?

Anyone who thinks visually and wants to move faster through the creative process. Common users include designers, product managers, developers, founders, architects, and hobbyists who work with visual ideas. Äng is especially useful when you need to explore many directions quickly — visual briefs, style explorations, concept iterations, or reference curation.

How does AI image generation work in Äng?

Äng routes most image, video and text generation through a curated multi-provider model set via the Vercel AI Gateway; Reve and fal.ai (image-to-3D) are called directly. You can generate from text prompts, edit with natural language, inpaint, outpaint, restyle from a reference, merge multiple images, or generate video and 3D where your plan and data retention mode allow. AI actions adapt to what you have selected on the canvas.

Is Äng free?

Yes — Äng is free during the beta period. The core image generation, editing, and canvas tools are available to every account, and granted beta members get the full workspace at no cost. A few compute-heavier features — video, 3D, image merge, thumbnail sheets, batch variations, and 4K — are part of full beta access. We plan to introduce paid plans after beta, but we will give users plenty of notice and beta participants will receive favorable terms.

How do I get access?

Beta access is currently invite-based. You can request access on the beta page. We review requests and approve them in batches. Once approved, you will receive an invite via email.

What is an "infinite canvas"?

An infinite canvas is a spatial workspace with no fixed edges. You can pan and zoom freely, placing images, text notes, and generated content anywhere. Nothing is constrained to a fixed page size or grid. This lets you spread out a large reference collection, keep different concepts in separate areas, and visually group related ideas.

Does Äng use my images or prompts to train AI models?

Äng does not use your content to train its own models or for advertising. New accounts default to Zero Data Retention (ZDR) in Settings → AI, which only offers ZDR-compatible models. No training keeps the no-training guarantee with a larger catalog; Standard unlocks the full catalog, where providers may use inputs to improve their models per their own policies.

Where is my data stored?

Board state and metadata are stored in Supabase (EU regions available). Assets such as images are stored in Supabase Storage. We process errors via Sentry (EU – Frankfurt). See the privacy policy and subprocessors list for the full list of third-party processors.

Does Äng work offline?

No. Äng needs an active internet connection: board content is loaded from the server, and saving changes and every AI operation require connectivity.

What browsers does Äng support?

Äng runs in modern evergreen browsers — Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari. A desktop browser is recommended for the best canvas experience. Mobile support is limited.

How do I report a bug or give feedback?

Use the feedback button inside the app to submit a bug report or suggestion. You can choose whether to include a screenshot, and all text in any screenshot is masked for privacy.

How does billing work after beta ends?

We will communicate pricing before it takes effect. Beta users will not be charged without explicit opt-in. When paid plans launch we will outline the options and give users time to decide.
